RESIDENCE S

Al Mishref, Kuwait | 2021

For this interior, the client wanted the whole house to revolve around the comfort of his family. As the architecture of the villa was very prominent and present using a brick façade; a material that has a strong character and presence; we opted for a toned down palette in the interior. We used cool colors to not overshadow the active color of the architecture. Calm hues of green and blue were injected in the furniture which are comforting for the user. We created a library room which opens up to the front garden where the family can sit and enjoy a good book whilst watching their girls play.

Arches were another strong design element that was found in the architecture of the house and was emphasized in our interior and used in some areas of the house, such as the playroom which was another room very important to the client. As they wanted the playroom to house all the creativity of their kids. We opted for creating a space which includes spaces for both active play; a custom monkey bar and climbing wall; and the more quiet and calm artistic form of play using a chalk wall and an arch wall with areas for sitting and coloring.
